Marlowe plc was founded with a strategy of consolidating essential compliance-related services across fire safety, security, and environmental disciplines. It was incorporated in London and admitted to trading on the AIM market as a public company in 2016, marking the start of an aggressive growth and acquisition trajectory.
Marlowe’s core focus was on providing business-critical services to help organisations meet strict regulatory and insurance requirements, especially in fire and security compliance and in water and air hygiene.
The company went on to serve around 27,000 customers across the UK, spanning commercial centres, industrial estates, public sector organisations, NHS trusts, and large corporates.
The biggest change in the company’s history came in June 2025, when Mitie Group plc acquired Marlowe plc, making Mitie the UK’s largest provider of testing, inspection and certification services for fire safety, security systems, water and air hygiene, and asbestos management.
